Flavourfest 2022 – What a Day!
After a long break, due to COVID, FlavourFest finally came back to Odiham High Street this August Bank Holiday Monday. There was a great showcase of fine local food and drink alongside toe-tapping live entertainment and children’s activities. All this was available right in the middle of Odiham’s beautiful High Street.
The sunny morning started at 7am with our volunteers arranging road closure signs and assisting the 50 stall holders to their pitches. The event opened at 11am with 120 visitors’ cars in the Robert Mays School car park by 11.30! We had over 4000 eager family members visiting during the day from all over Hampshire. As lunchtime approached the food vendors were inundated by hungry clients. The Pie Man sold out by midday! Note – more stock next year!
The InOdiham raffle was well received with some happy winners at the end of the day. The children’s craft tent – being next to the ice cream van – was in continual use with many happy young faces returning to the High Street.
The music played throughout the day with all the audience benches taken – standing room only! It was great to see the children dancing to the music.
With raffles drawn the afternoon came to a natural conclusion around 5pm. A really great family day out was enjoyed by all. We have had good feedback from the stall holders who seem eager to return next year.
We would like to thank all involved especially Fuse Projects who organised the event along with our InOdiham Team who efficiently handled the logistics both in the High St and at Robert Mays school. Our thanks to RJA Security who were brilliant, RoupCycle waste clearance who did a great job keeping the High St tidy and cleaning up afterwards, Robert Mays School for the use of their car park and Odiham Dental for sponsoring the event. None of this could happen without the much appreciated grant from the Odiham Parish Council so our grateful thanks to them as well.
